THE PATTERNS DO NOT STRETCH AS MUCH AS THE SOLID ONES AND THEY DO RUN A BIT SMALL. This layering piece is 2 way stretch in the girth. It does stretch a bit so will conform to the shape of your pet. We would recommend choosing the size that best relates to your dog's weight first, then measurements. It's not exact - but the style is forgiving. If you are in doubt - size up!
